This report is a companion to the 2023 Quantum Threat Timeline Report. With quantum computers on the horizon, organizations will need to migrate their systems to a quantum-safe environment, but it is unclear whether decision makers in the commercial and financial sectors are aware and committed to this complex and costly migration.
A series of interviews were conducted with senior executives from financial institutions to gauge their awareness and readiness to address the quantum threat. These interviews focused on the main barriers to quantum-safe migration, and approaches that would be most likely to gain traction when presenting the quantum threat to senior executives and boards.
Based on these interviews the report presents recommendations aimed at helping organizations increase awareness of the quantum threat at the executive and board levels, and ultimately build commitment to a timely quantum-safe migration.
